Listen to Understand

Just listen.

It is much easier said, than done.

We need to stop thinking about the last time we had a similar experience.

We have to listen without planning how we can fix it.

We must listen without judgment.

We need to listen to understand, not to respond.

It takes practice, more practice, and lots of intention.

Next time you are in a comfortable discussion, take the time to just listen.

Keep repeating that again, and again.

Then, it will be easier to implement during a difficult conversation.

Just listen.
