When someone is rude,

it IS about THEM.


It is NOT about you.


What they say AND how they say it communicates their feelings, NOT yours.


How do you respond?


Pause.


Take a deep breath.


Acknowledge their feelings.


Be curious with a question.


Listen.


Most importantly, their words and actions are a reflection of them, NOT you.
